Is SALADIN infamous or famous? why?

He was a great leader of the Saracens, in the time of Richard The Third Lionheart. He was the enemy, but a good and honourable man, much admired then and now. The name Saladin is Anglicized, and is actually Salah Ad Din. He re-took the Holy Land from the Crusaders.
