Why do you think Jose Rizal is also considered as an Asian hero?

I PERSONALLY DO NOT THINK JOSE RIZAL is considered an Asian hero. No Malaysian or Indonesian knew who Dr. Rizal is or even a Singaporean. You mentioned Rizal to them and they will all tell you ..."RIZAL WHO?, WHO IS HE?" You are practically reading too many books on Rizal that is why you cannot pin point what you have in mind. Rizal is this, Rizal is that. Rizal is NOT the only hero a FILIPINO knows. A pity really. I am a Filipino but Rizal is NOT the only hero I have in mind. In fact during his time, there are approximately 35 FILIPINOS fighting the government of SPAIN. While you only know only one hero---DR. JOSE RIZAL. Rizal is NOT SUPERMAN or BATMAN or SPIDERMAN. Have you heard GOMBURZA, the 3 Filipino priest executed by Spain? I guess you haven't. What about Paterno, Malvar, Capinpin, Recto,Bonifacio, Jacinto etc.. only a few to refresh your mind on heroes of the Philippines. So not only Rizal. Next time I suggest you read the whole PHILIPPINES HISTORY to gain more knowledge on what you are asking. You are practically insulting my Filipino value.
